What I do
The best way to describe what I do is that I work at the intersection of delivery and strategy in delivering public services.
I work at senior leadership level, leading teams doing the doing while I set the conditions for their work to continue and progress. Laying the train track ahead of the train. I know enough about most disciplines in the digital, data and technology world. I work with organisations to support them start working in modern, user-centred, service design-based ways.
The types of things I’ve done in roles that I’m really good at:
- Fixing broken things. Teams/processes/programmes that aren’t delivering or are struggling to get going.
- Starting things, building teams and handing over the day to day running. I am not a “business as usual person”. When things start hinting at routine, I need to move on.
- Coaching delivery teams and coaching senior leaders, around digital delivery, service design and the conditions for success for modern organisations.
Specific things I can help with:
- Digital maturity reviews
- Where and how to get started with transformation
- Prioritisation at a strategic level
- Interim leadership roles
- Programme management
- Team health checks
- Project reviews & realignment
- Coaching (both delivery and exec teams) in digital
- Training in agile, user centred design
- Working in the open
